How to Transform from Content developer to Writer

I’ve been immersed in writing for many years, crafting stories across various platforms from WordPress to Blogger various Community forums.

Surprisingly, despite these experiences, I never truly saw myself as a writer. Terms like “wannabe” and “aspiring” dominated my self-perception. The dream of writing a book and being acknowledged as a genuine writer seemed distant.

Then, a simple mindset shift altered everything – a crucial step for anyone aspiring to be taken seriously in their work. Real writers possess a firm belief in themselves. They write with confidence and courage, void of excuses or apologies. To produce valuable work, you must adopt the same approach, even if initially, you must fake it.

Embrace the title of a writer; it marks the transition from an amateur to a professional. Someone once asked author Steven Pressfield when someone truly becomes a writer? – is it with a book deal, selling a thousand copies, hitting the bestseller list? His responsestuck with me: “You are when you say you are. Screw what everyone else says.”

Initially skeptical, I decided to test this notion. I started affirming myself as a writer, something I had always doubted.

Astonishingly, it worked. I began acting like a genuine writer, not a wannabe, and remarkable opportunities unfolded – guest posts, book deals, magazine invitations, and even tangible earnings.

Calling yourself a writer is not just a label; it unlocks newfound confidence, improves the quality of your work, and convinces others to take you seriously. It‘s time to shed self-doubt and embrace the title – call yourself a writer and truly believe it.
